Platform Onboarding

This platform is designed to provide auditing students with a realistic, interactive forensic data analytics and interrogation experience. Follow the steps below to integrate the simulation into your course.

1. Request Access: Email jason.rasso@uky.edu to verify your faculty status. You will receive a secure administrative token.
2. Setup Your Cohort: Use your token to access the Administrative Dashboard and generate a unique Class Code for your students.
3. Run the Simulation: Provide the Class Code to your students so they can access the secure data room and interrogation portal.
4. Extract Logs: Return to the dashboard to download the grading stack: time spent, database queries, and full interrogation transcripts.

Case 00: Campus Pulse Events

Principles of Financial Accounting.A student-run DJ business through its first month of trading. Eighteen transactions arrive on a simulated phone, three of which are not transactions at all; then six month-end adjustments and a full set of statements. Scored entirely on the server — there is nothing for you to mark.

Midnight Melt

Intermediate Accounting I. Closing the books for a late-night food truck before its lender meeting. Students reconcile the bank account, decide the year-end adjustments, build the statements and write the owner a memo. One of the three owners is certain money is missing; inquiry time is limited, and the reasoning is graded rather than only the numbers.

Stave & Char Cooperage

Managerial Accounting.Four decisions at a barrel maker with one firing station: break-even and cost structure, a special order priced against the Controller’s absorbed cost, a line to keep or drop, and a second station judged at the company’s hurdle and against the return the manager is paid on. Each stage locks on the server before the next stage’s evidence arrives; the figures are marked against each student’s own seed, and four short pieces of prose are yours to read.

Case 01: The Cold Trail

Forensic accounting.Students investigate a missing chemical compound, analyzing lab outputs, warehouse receiving logs and badge sweeps to build a timeline, then use what they found to break a suspect’s alibi in a live interrogation.

Case 02: The Audit Trail

Auditing. A full-cycle financial statement audit on a fifteen-hour budget. Students set materiality, test a control by walking it with the clerk who operates it, observe an inventory count, and try to get an adjusting entry past a Controller who has two minutes for them.
